In this EKO Case Study, we helped a new Head of HR who was working for a Global Charity, headquartered in the UK.
Our client was struggling with ongoing conflicts with one of her line reports. This was impacting both of them in their ability to properly function within the organisation, and was made worse by the fact that neither party had ever met in person!
The solution provided by EKO included a number of strategies.
Initially, EKO interviewed a sponsor from within the organisation to better understand the issue, followed by an initial assessment.
The next step was to hold a meeting between the parties with EKO acting as the mediator. Both parties signed heads of agreement following the meeting to confirm understandings and their action plans for the immediate and long term future.
EKO followed this meeting up with a debrief, and full report provided to the organisational sponsor.
We love this EKO case study as it demonstrates how even the most difficult professional relationships, which inhibit productivity and cause disruption in the workplace- can be transformed through the power of effective communication.
Following our intervention, both parties were empowered to express their opinions and listen to each other’s perspective on the issues that were causing conflict.
Not only this, but they acknowledged each other's concerns and committed to supporting each other and working collaboratively going forward.
